She waits for the light
Camera in hand.
Her subject’s elusive
Roaming o’er the land.
For many years now,
She has studied.
Growth and progress,
Has sometimes been bloody.
Her patience has grown,
Past the known limits.
The perfect shot,
Hopefully worth it.
He allows her close,
When struck very ill.
Just enough trust,
To hold him still.
Tender ministrations
To ensure his health,
And off again he goes
Practicing his stealth.
She watches his growth
Impressed most days.
The beauty she sees,
Shines through the haze.
Maybe someday
He will trust a li’l more,
Maybe it will reach
Down into the core.
Until that day comes
She patiently waits.
The glimpses she gets,
Must indeed sate.
She hears him in the distance
Such a lovely sound.
A grin on her face,
To know he’s around.
She checks her camera,
She might get to see.
Her long time friend,
Wandering free.
She sighs heavily,
For not today.
She packs it all up,
Slowly drives away.
Yet, a soft smile
In her eyes is twinkling,
All she gets to see
Is Simply amazing.
