I committed a sin
no forgiveness to come
you must be perfection,
no less for some.
The words always lies,
a convenience you are
one thousand and one tries,
to show over the bar.
Assurances spewed,
stupid enough to believe
perception is skewed,
hoping for reprieve.
The costume of err,
though not fitting at all
you must always wear,
'tis your burden to fall.
Value is cheapened,
true heart ignored
climb ever steepened,
not worth striving for.
Proving oneself
time & again,
put on a shelf
wrongs to mend.
I committed a sin
no forgiveness to come
you must be perfection
no less for some.
